Former Trump DHS Official Miles Taylor Says He Expects FBI Raid After Bolton Search

Former Department of Homeland Security official Miles Taylor is bracing for what he believes could be an FBI raid on his home, following news of the agency’s recent search of former National Security Adviser John Bolton’s residence.

Taylor, who served in the Trump administration from 2017 to 2019 and later became an outspoken critic of the former president, revealed his concerns during an appearance on MSNBC’s The Weekend with host Jonathan Capehart.

Capehart asked Taylor directly whether the FBI’s actions against Bolton had him worried about becoming a target.

“Yeah, we expect it. I mean, really, we expect it,” Taylor responded. “And that’s what is so surreal about this is we can all hear as we’re talking about this, be so certain of the president’s revenge campaign to know potentially who that next target might be or one of those next targets. I mean when my wife and I woke up and saw the news, she basically said to me, ‘it’s coming.’”

Taylor Claims ‘Revenge Campaign’ by Trump

Taylor claimed that the FBI action is part of a broader retaliation effort by Trump, suggesting that the former president is using the justice system to punish critics and reshape political norms.

“Folks don’t have to play the violin for John Bolton or Miles Taylor. Maybe they don’t like either of us. That’s fine, because it’s not about us. It’s about the criminal justice system that all Americans expect to be able to treat them fairly,” Taylor said.

He added: “It’s a president of the United States weaponizing the tools of his office to reshape our society. And he’s doing that. He’s making sure the scales of justice tip in his favor. There’s no telling where this could go next.”

Interestingly, neither Taylor nor Capehart addressed the Biden administration’s ongoing prosecutions of Trump—nor the fact that Trump himself was the first U.S. president to be raided by the FBI in 2022, under the current administration.

Bolton Raid Sparks Questions

The FBI raided Bolton’s Maryland home earlier this week, removing several boxes of material. Though Bolton was neither arrested nor charged, sources say the raid is connected to an investigation involving classified documents.

Bolton, a longtime Trump critic, has clashed with the former president on numerous foreign policy issues. His recent remarks opposing Trump’s proposed peace plan between Russia and Ukraine have fueled speculation about the timing of the FBI’s action.

Jim Jordan Weighs In

On Friday, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, discussed the raid on Fox News Channel’s Hannity. Jordan suggested that the FBI’s move against Bolton is part of a larger accountability push targeting figures accused of undermining Trump during his presidency.

“I don’t know how this went down today, but you’re right,” Jordan told Hannity. “The press wasn’t there. There wasn’t all this, you know, the big scene that it was three years ago this month when they raided President Trump’s home.”

Jordan then highlighted recent revelations he believes show systemic misconduct among intelligence officials:

“We learned that Jim Comey and his chief of staff were leaking classified information. We learned that a whistleblower has come forward and said Adam Schiff was leaking classified information,” Jordan said.

He added that reports from current ODNI leadership revealed that “they changed the intelligence community assessment back before President Trump even took office, between Election Day 2016 and Inauguration Day.”

Jordan credited Attorney General Kash Patel and ODNI Director Tulsi Gabbard for uncovering these findings, calling the disclosures “stunning.”

What’s Next?

As the political and legal firestorm intensifies, Taylor insists that the issue isn’t about personal grievances but about institutional integrity. However, critics argue that his warnings amount to political theater designed to deflect from growing scrutiny on anti-Trump operatives within the government.

For now, no charges have been filed against Bolton, and the FBI has not publicly indicated any plans to target Taylor. Still, the former DHS official says he and his family are preparing for a possible raid.

“We woke up and saw the news, and my wife basically said to me, ‘it’s coming,’” Taylor repeated.

Whether that prediction comes true—or proves to be an overstatement—remains to be seen.
