Megyn Kelly Breaks Ranks — Calls Out Conservative Media Silence on Epstein

Megyn Kelly isn’t holding back. On her podcast this week, she took direct aim at a few familiar names on the right for what she calls a “sudden silence” on a story that once had them all fired up.

What’s changed? That’s exactly what Kelly is asking — and she’s not alone.

Megyn Kelly: “What Happened to the Fire?”

Kelly, who worked alongside Laura Ingraham at Fox News for nearly a decade, said she was stunned to see key media figures distancing themselves from the Jeffrey Epstein investigation — especially now that public pressure is building again.

“You now have some MAGA influencers, clearly on direction of the White House, saying, ‘OK, I’m done,’” Kelly said.

She specifically mentioned Laura Ingraham, criticizing her for saying she was ready to “move on” from the topic.

“I like Laura,” Kelly noted, “but she 100 percent stood up there and fanned this flame.”

Silence That Speaks Volumes

Kelly wasn’t exaggerating. On the most recent episode of The Ingraham Angle, Epstein’s name didn’t come up once—not even in the panel segments. The only mention came from a guest in passing during a completely different topic.

This lines up with a broader pattern: Fox News and other MAGA-aligned outlets have gone mostly quiet on the Epstein files, even as public interest has surged again in light of DOJ reviews and new FOIA lawsuits.

At Turning Point USA: Cheers and Heat

Kelly’s remarks drew loud applause at a recent Turning Point USA event hosted by Charlie Kirk. She asked the crowd directly: “Do you still care about the Epstein story?” The room roared in response.

But Kelly didn’t stop there. She also took aim at TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk himself, calling out his comment that he was “moving on from Epstein… for now.”

She followed that up by playing the clip on her show, saying:

“Let’s not pretend that some of the president’s most loyal advocates aren’t very, very interested in Epstein. They are, all right?”

Her broader message: too many voices in conservative media are letting loyalty outweigh accountability.

“Journalists Have a Job to Do — Even If It’s Uncomfortable”

Kelly framed the issue as a journalistic failure, not a political one.

“You approach all stories and everything fed to you by an administration official, like them, love them, respect them, trust them or not, with a hefty dose of skepticism,” she said.
“That’s your job.”

She added that real journalism doesn’t stop asking questions just because a story becomes politically inconvenient — especially one involving child trafficking, international blackmail, and intelligence connections.

Bret Baier: “The Story Doesn’t Go Away”

Even Fox anchor Bret Baier seems to acknowledge that the Epstein scandal isn’t just lingering — it’s growing.

He opened Special Report by highlighting Trump’s recent comments urging Attorney General Pam Bondi to release all credible Epstein-related files.

Baier made it clear:

“This story doesn’t go away here.”

He brought in reporter David Spunt for an update on the Department of Justice’s FOIA review — spurred by a Judicial Watch lawsuit — and noted the internal pressure it’s creating within the DOJ and the White House alike.

 Where It Stands Now

The Department of Justice has confirmed that it’s reviewing documents related to Epstein as part of ongoing transparency efforts.

But critics like Kelly say the real problem isn’t in the courts — it’s in the court of public opinion. And the sudden media retreat only deepens the suspicion.

As Kelly summed it up:

“Some in the media let their loyalty to the president trump their journalistic obligation. That’s the real betrayal.”

Whether she gains traction or gets pushed further to the sidelines remains to be seen — but if she’s right, this isn’t the last time you’ll hear Epstein’s name in 2025.
