JD Vance Responds to Gavin Newsom’s Criticism Over Disneyland Trip with Powerful Message on Family and Leadership

JD Vance Fires Back After Gavin Newsom Attacks His Family Vacation, Highlights Hypocrisy in California Leadership

Vice President JD Vance spent the weekend with his wife and children at Disneyland—but instead of enjoying a peaceful family moment, he became the target of partisan attacks from California Governor Gavin Newsom.

Images and videos of the Vance family’s low-key trip to the California amusement park began circulating online Saturday. While many Americans appreciated the wholesome moment, Governor Newsom quickly turned to X (formerly Twitter) to launch a political broadside.

“Hope you enjoy your family time, @JDVance. The families you’re tearing apart certainly won’t,” Newsom tweeted, referencing the Trump administration’s renewed immigration enforcement measures—particularly recent raids conducted in sanctuary jurisdictions like California.

But Vance didn’t take the bait. With a calm and cutting reply, he tweeted back:
“Had a great time, thanks.”

The understated response, while brief, was powerful. It reflected not only Vance’s composure under fire but also highlighted the contrast in leadership styles. While Newsom airs grievances on social media, Vance is enforcing federal law and promoting family values—even amid protests and media scrutiny.

The backlash against Vance didn’t stop at tweets. Roughly 150 protesters organized outside Disneyland and nearby Anaheim locations, chanting slogans and attempting to disrupt the Vice President’s stay. Protesters also reportedly followed the Vance family to their hotel, illustrating once again how personal and hostile political discourse has become—particularly toward conservatives.

Meanwhile, Usha Vance quietly visited Camp Pendleton during the California trip, reading to children of U.S. military families as part of her literacy campaign. It was a meaningful moment—yet entirely ignored by mainstream media outlets.

This is not the first time Gavin Newsom has used his platform to criticize Trump-aligned officials, but it may be one of the most hypocritical. While Newsom governs a state plagued by homelessness, rising crime, and a mass exodus of residents and businesses, he spends his energy trolling the Vice President for taking a family vacation.

The contrast is telling. JD Vance took a break with his family, then resumed his work—helping restore law and order through federal immigration enforcement efforts that address years of neglect by blue-state leaders.

The recent immigration raid that sparked the controversy uncovered over 200 illegal immigrants employed at a marijuana farm in Southern California—an operation allegedly overlooked by local authorities for months.

The Trump-Vance administration has made it clear: immigration law will be enforced, regardless of which city or state stands in the way. Critics may shout, protest, or tweet, but the rule of law is back—and that, more than anything, seems to unnerve progressive leaders like Newsom.

The irony is hard to miss. As Newsom eyes a possible 2028 presidential bid, he appears more interested in virtue-signaling online than resolving the crises unfolding in his own state. Meanwhile, JD Vance continues to do what he’s done from the beginning—focus on families, support the military, and uphold the Constitution.

And if that offends the left? So be it.
