Did a Democratic lawmaker just incite violence against federal agents? ICE officials say yes — and they’re furious.
Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) is facing intense backlash after calling U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) a “terrorist force” during an Instagram rant and a fiery CNN interview.
The fallout has been explosive, especially as assaults on ICE officers skyrocket across the country.
Jayapal Doubles Down on Dangerous Rhetoric
Jayapal first lit the fuse on Tuesday, posting:
“ICE is acting like a terrorist force… People of all legal statuses — even U.S. citizens — are being kidnapped by masked men. No oversight. No accountability. Completely lawless.”
She repeated those claims on CNN News Central, insisting that ICE agents are operating “like kidnappers,” and accusing them of abducting people “off the street” without ID or explanation.
White House Responds: “Deranged, Disgusting, and Deadly”
White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson didn’t hold back. In a statement to Fox News Digital, she slammed Jayapal’s comments as “disgusting” and said she owes ICE agents an immediate apology.
“Heroic ICE officers are doing their jobs with professionalism,” Jackson said.
“Dangerous smears by deranged leftists like Jayapal are radicalizing people to attack federal law enforcement.”
She cited shocking stats:
🟥 Attacks on ICE agents are up 500% this year
🟥 “That number will only rise if Jayapal keeps smearing them,” she warned
Jayapal Defends Herself — and Escalates Further
Instead of walking it back, Jayapal doubled down.
“I never thought I’d see masked men kidnapping people in America,” she said.
“It’s unconstitutional. It’s terrorizing families, farmers, small businesses. The administration owes the country an apology.”
Jayapal described ICE enforcement as “outrageous,” “illegal,” and “absolutely terrifying.”
She also claimed people with legal status and even long-time residents with no criminal history are being targeted.
Tom Homan Sounds the Alarm: “This Is Going to Get Someone Killed”
President Trump’s Border Czar, Tom Homan, ripped Jayapal and CNN for amplifying anti-ICE rhetoric.
Appearing on The Will Cain Show, Homan warned:
“You’ve got an app now—ICEBlock—that tracks ICE in real time. It’s only a matter of time before some lunatic ambushes an agent.”
He referenced past attacks, including incidents in Los Angeles where ICE officers were targeted with bricks and Molotov cocktails.
“It’s disgusting. And it’s directly tied to rhetoric like Jayapal’s,” Homan said.
ICE Officials Are Done Playing Nice
Inside the agency, morale is low — but resolve is high.
Agents say they’re risking their lives daily to enforce federal law, not to play politics. With violence increasing and lawmakers smearing them on national TV, many are calling for immediate censure of Jayapal.
Bottom Line: Did a Member of Congress Just Put ICE in Danger?
Federal agents say yes.
The White House says yes.
And with a 500% spike in attacks, Americans might want to ask — who’s really endangering democracy?
