Bongino Unveils Stunning FBI Update: Violent Crime Down, Mass Arrests, Border Enforcement Tightens
FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino has delivered a powerful new update on the state of the bureau under his leadership and that of FBI Director Kash Patel, revealing sweeping reforms and aggressive law enforcement actions across the country. Appointed by President Donald Trump to restore credibility to the FBI, Bongino detailed the agency’s progress in cracking down on violent crime, human trafficking, and public corruption.
In a post on the X platform, Bongino laid out the early results of their efforts, saying, “We are mission-focused on crushing violent crime and making your neighborhoods noticeably safer.” According to him, the FBI has arrested over 14,000 violent criminals so far—marking a 62% increase from the same time last year. Among those taken into custody were cartel leaders and child predators, some facing long-term sentences.
“We also located and apprehended three of the FBI’s top ten ‘most wanted,’” Bongino added. “The murder rate is now tracking to be the lowest on record.”
The crackdown hasn’t stopped there. Bongino said over 825 violent child predators and 140 human traffickers have been arrested in recent months. “If you’re preying on our children, we are coming for you. It’s only a matter of time,” he warned.
Addressing recent political unrest, Bongino confirmed that over 700 arrests have been made in connection with riots, many involving organized groups. “We warned those acting out violently that we would restore order. We are not done,” he said.
On the immigration front, Bongino announced that the FBI, in coordination with federal agencies, had arrested, imprisoned, and deported more than 18,000 illegal aliens—many with violent criminal records. He added that, for the first time, “ZERO illegals were admitted into our country last month.”
In addition to field operations, Bongino said the FBI has undergone internal restructuring to eliminate past mistakes and increase accountability. “Personnel and structural changes continue,” he noted. “There are also things happening we cannot publicly discuss—but that doesn’t mean they’re not happening.”
He concluded by teasing an upcoming post on the arrests of multiple foreign intelligence operatives caught engaging in illegal activities within the U.S., stating that national security remains a top priority in the current high-threat global environment.
“There’s more work to be done,” Bongino wrote. “Stay tuned for additional disclosures on public corruption and ongoing investigations.”
