Marjorie Taylor Greene Explodes Over Trump’s Iran Bombing: “America Last?”
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is taking direct aim at former President Donald Trump — and this time, it’s not about the 2020 election.
In a fiery appearance on Steve Bannon’s WarRoom podcast, Greene slammed Trump over the recent U.S. airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, accusing him of abandoning his campaign promise to keep America out of foreign wars. Greene didn’t hold back: “We just entered World War III for Israel,” she declared, adding that “American lives are now at risk because we’ve prioritized someone else’s interests.”
The Georgia Republican, a prominent figure in the populist America First movement, expressed frustration with what she called a betrayal of conservative voters. “Six months into his second term, and we’re bombing Iran? That’s not what people voted for,” she said. The strikes, which targeted major Iranian nuclear infrastructure, have drawn condemnation from both anti-war conservatives and progressives — an unusual point of agreement in an increasingly divided political climate.
Greene also blasted conservative media outlets for what she claims is cheerleading for war. “Fox News and CNN are both selling the same narrative — and the second coffins start coming home, they’ll change their tune,” she warned.
But Greene’s criticism didn’t stop at foreign policy. She also turned on Trump’s proposed federal budget, which includes a controversial 10-year ban on state-level AI regulation. Greene labeled the provision a “poison pill,” saying it strips states of the right to govern emerging technologies. “If that moratorium is still in the bill, I’m a 100% no vote,” she said.
This clash reveals a growing rift within the Republican Party. While pro-intervention figures like Mark Levin and Sean Hannity backed the Iran strikes, populists like Greene — and media allies like Tucker Carlson — are calling foul. Greene even fired back at Levin directly: “He doesn’t have a vote. I do. And I represent people who still believe in putting America first.”
Whether this marks a lasting fracture within the GOP or a temporary posturing storm remains to be seen. But one thing’s clear: Greene is not backing down.
