Washington, D.C. – A newly declassified intelligence report has sent shockwaves through Capitol Hill, with top Republicans now demanding answers about a disturbing 2020 election-era plot that the FBI allegedly buried.
On Monday evening, FBI Director Kash Patel delivered explosive documents to Congress—materials that had previously been sealed since August 2020. The report points to an alleged Chinese scheme involving mass-produced counterfeit U.S. driver’s licenses, which were purportedly meant to be used to submit fraudulent mail-in ballots in favor of Joe Biden.
The revelations come as part of a formal request from Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), who has long warned that election-related foreign threats were downplayed or ignored by the intelligence community.
According to internal sources cited by Just the News, the intelligence in question originated from a confidential FBI informant, who claimed that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) had planned to smuggle thousands of fake driver’s licenses into the U.S. to create bogus voter identities. These IDs, the report suggests, could have enabled foreign nationals to cast votes through mail-in ballots in key swing states.
Yet the most troubling part? The FBI allegedly pulled the plug.
Within mere weeks of receiving the intelligence, the report was abruptly withdrawn. Officials now say the bureau justified its inaction by claiming the informant required further vetting. No follow-up interview ever occurred. No full investigation was launched.
In his statement to Just the News, Patel didn’t hold back. “These were substantiated allegations. We now know they were never disclosed to the public and never pursued. That raises serious questions.”
Adding to the mystery, U.S. Customs and Border Protection reportedly seized nearly 20,000 counterfeit licenses around the same time the original intel was flagged. While no direct connection has been confirmed, Grassley and others argue the overlap is far too suspicious to ignore.
“Why wasn’t this investigated? Who gave the order to stand down?” asked a senior congressional aide close to the probe.
As the document review unfolds, lawmakers are calling for public hearings—and possibly criminal inquiries—into how the FBI handled what may be one of the most explosive foreign interference allegations since 2016.
