A 23-year-old man was arrested early Tuesday morning after attempting to climb over the wall surrounding former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida. The man, identified as Anthony Thomas Reyes, reportedly told authorities that his intention was to “spread the gospel” to Trump and marry the former president’s teenage granddaughter.

According to a police report from the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office, Reyes was apprehended shortly after midnight by Secret Service personnel, who responded after security alarms were triggered. He was taken into custody without incident and turned over to Palm Beach police officers.

This is not Reyes’ first encounter with law enforcement at Mar-a-Lago. Authorities confirmed he had previously been warned for trespassing on the property during New Year’s Eve festivities, when Trump was believed to be present.

Reyes is currently facing trespassing charges. While he was initially granted release on a $1,000 bond, that amount was later raised to $50,000 due to the nature of the case and his repeat offense. Federal authorities are also reviewing whether additional charges should be filed.

During questioning, Reyes reportedly stated that he intended to marry Kai Trump, the 18-year-old daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and Trump’s eldest granddaughter. It is not known whether any members of the Trump family were on the property at the time.

The Mar-a-Lago estate has faced a number of security incidents over the years, and this latest breach has once again raised questions about the safety of public figures and their families.

The Trump family has not publicly commented on the incident.
