A woman in Florida was arrested over the weekend after she was caught on video allegedly keying a Tesla and then firing multiple gunshots into it—while it was parked on private property.
Security footage shows the woman dragging what appears to be a key across both sides of a white Tesla sedan. After putting her grocery bags down, she reportedly pulls a handgun from her bag and fires three rounds into the vehicle’s side.
Minutes later, a responding police officer arrives at the scene and begins questioning the suspect, who denies any wrongdoing. During the exchange, the officer notices white paint marks on her key and finds a handgun in her purse, which reportedly matched shell casings recovered nearby.
The situation escalated when the woman attempted to flee on foot. She didn’t get far—officers quickly apprehended her, placed her in handcuffs, and escorted her to a patrol vehicle.
Suspect Blames Elon Musk
While in the back of the police car, the woman reportedly began ranting about Elon Musk, blaming the Tesla CEO for various personal grievances and indirectly admitting to the vandalism and shooting.
She now faces multiple charges, including criminal mischief, illegal discharge of a firearm, resisting arrest, and trespassing.
The incident highlights growing concerns about property-related crimes and mental health, especially as high-profile brands like Tesla continue to attract attention—positive and negative alike.
