Tom Homan, the current U.S. Border Czar under President Donald Trump, delivered a bold and unfiltered speech at Turning Point USA’s Student Action Summit on July 12, 2025, held in Tampa, Florida. Known for his unwavering support of law enforcement and border security, Homan made headlines again—this time for directly confronting a heckler and reinforcing his commitment to immigration enforcement.
The tension peaked when a heckler interrupted Homan mid-speech, yelling, “Are you an MS-13 member?” Security quickly escorted the protester out as the crowd broke into chants of “U-S-A! U-S-A!”
Rather than being rattled, Homan used the moment to amplify his message.
“Tom Homan is going to run the biggest deportation operation this country has ever seen,” he declared to roaring applause. He then addressed the anti-ICE demonstrators who had gathered outside the venue earlier in the evening: “You want some? Come get some.”
Homan, who served as Acting Director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) from 2017 to 2018, was appointed Border Czar in January 2025 by President Trump. In his current role, he oversees the administration’s aggressive immigration enforcement agenda.
Referring to ICE agents and Border Patrol officers, Homan said, “They’re the finest 1% this country has. I demand your respect for them. Tom Homan isn’t going anywhere. Tom Homan isn’t shutting up.”
Responding directly to the heckler’s MS-13 jab, Homan fired back: “This guy wouldn’t know what it’s like to serve this nation. He doesn’t have the guts to be an ICE officer or a Border Patrol agent. He probably lives in his mother’s basement. I’m just surprised he didn’t have purple hair and a nose ring. Get outta here, you loser.”
Protesters lined the streets outside the summit, expressing opposition to Trump’s immigration policies. Homan said such protests wouldn’t affect the mission: “We’re going to do the job that President Trump gave us to do.”
He also spoke about the growing hostility toward immigration enforcement officers, stating, “I’ve never seen such hate aimed at the men and women of ICE and the Border Patrol.” He emphasized that critics “don’t have the courage to do what we do.”
The speech came just days after President Trump signed new immigration legislation aimed at securing the southern border and reforming immigration laws. Homan praised the move, calling it the “big, beautiful bill,” and said, “President Trump gave us the tools, and we’re going to use them.”
He closed his address with a warning and a blunt statement: “Sometimes I’m harsh. But if I offend anybody here tonight, I don’t give a damn.”
