Bribery Charges Against Cuomo and Hochul Aide
FBI Director Kash Patel directly addressed recent bribery charges against a former aide to Governors Andrew Cuomo and Kathy Hochul. Specifically, authorities allege that the scheme involved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) contracts.
“While Americans were locked down and desperate for PPE, Linda Sun and Chris Hu cashed in – allegedly lining their pockets while serving CCP interests,” Patel wrote on X. “This corruption endangered lives. Therefore, the FBI will not tolerate public officials who sell out their country.”
Additionally, FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino reinforced Patel’s message by posting, “Read the last sentence again. Bookmark it.” Consequently, officials indicted both Linda Sun and her husband, Chris Hu, on Wednesday.
FBI Investigates Leak on Iran Strikes Intelligence
Meanwhile, the FBI launched an investigation into a possible leak of a sensitive Defense Intelligence Agency assessment following U.S. strikes on Iran’s nuclear weapons sites. The assessment stated that the attacks likely delayed Iran’s nuclear program by only a few months; however, the media omitted this detail.
Furthermore, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth confirmed during a press conference that the FBI is actively pursuing the leak and warned that charges could follow if they identify the source.
GOP Lawmakers Suspect Political Motives Behind Leak
Moreover, several GOP lawmakers, including Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), expressed urgency to find the leaker. Graham suggested that a Democratic member of Congress might have leaked the information.
“Right now, they are searching for a leaker. So is Congress — how does this work? Now they are looking at Congress,” Graham said in a Fox News interview with host Jesse Watters.
He explained, “Certain committees receive the initial Defense Intelligence Agency assessment. Therefore, someone leaked that report to downplay the operation’s success, contrary to what President Trump said.”
Graham added, “Their political motive is clear. It’s someone who wants to undermine Trump. Could it be a member of Congress? Possibly.”
He concluded firmly, “Regardless of your title, if you leaked classified information, you should go to jail.”
