Amber Heard Quietly Changes Her Name and Leaves the U.S.—Now She’s a Mom of Three
Amber Heard just surprised the world with a major life update: she’s now the mother of twin babies. But that’s not the only revelation turning heads—she’s also changed her name and permanently left the United States.
The Aquaman star, now 39, made the emotional announcement on Instagram this Mother’s Day (May 11), posting a touching photo of her newborns’ feet and reflecting on her growing family.
“Mother’s Day 2025 will be one I’ll never forget,” she wrote. “Today I officially share the news that I welcomed twins into the Heard gang.”
Already mom to 4-year-old Oonagh Paige, who was born via surrogate in 2021, Heard revealed the names of her new arrivals: a daughter named Agnes and a son named Ocean.
“Becoming a mother on my own terms, despite fertility struggles, has been the most humbling experience of my life,” she added. “Now I’m bursting times three!”
Heard concluded her heartfelt post by sending love to mothers everywhere:
“Wherever you are, however you got here, we’re celebrating with you. Love always, A x.”
But it wasn’t just the baby news catching attention. Fans quickly began revisiting Heard’s low-profile move to Spain, where she’s been living since 2022 following her high-profile legal battle with ex-husband Johnny Depp.
After the intensely public defamation trial ended in Depp’s favor, Heard relocated to Europe and sold her California desert home. According to El Diario de Mallorca, before settling in Madrid, she spent time in Mallorca under a new alias: Martha Jane Cannary—a nod to Wild West figure Calamity Jane.
A source told PEOPLE in 2022 that Heard made the move because there was “too much chaos” in the U.S. post-trial.
“She’s just focused on being a mom and enjoying life in peace,” they added.
In a rare comment made to Hola! last year, Heard expressed her joy in Spain:
“I love it here. I’m lucky to be living in Madrid. I don’t want to think about the past—I’m happy and at peace.”
With a fresh start, a new name, and now three children, Amber Heard seems to be writing a whole new chapter.
